Marcia McCready, trained therapist and experienced teacher, seeks to build safety and foster connection and hope within a calm and creative setting. Her counselling experience within community and children’s mental health settings has provided her opportunities to serve children, teen, women, parents, and families.
Marcia’s strengths-based narrative approach, which seeks to separate the person from their problem, integrates mindfulness practices, play, and visual arts when appropriate. Her extensive CBT training, assists clients in regulating triggers by better understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, body responses, and behaviours. Marcia has experience in dealing with challenges related to ADHD or other common childhood or adolescent challenges, anxiety, abuse recovery, conflict, divorce recovery, depression, grief & loss, intrusive thinking, parenting support, etc. Marcia loves to listen, wonder, and challenge clients to think & dream big because she personally knows that transformation and abundant living is possible.
