Attachment Theory

Attachment describes the deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another across time and space (Ainsworth, 1973; Bowlby, 1969). Attachment Theory holds that early attachments to caregivers impacts an individual’s social, emotional and cognitive development and can set up a pattern for how that individual connects or attaches to others during their lifetime.
